GETTING HERE
By Air
The closest commercial airport is the Calgary International Airport (YYC), located a 1.5 hour drive to Canmore. Car rentals and shuttle services are available at the Airport. Shuttle rates are approximately $50/person each way. Car rental rates start at $150 for a week. As there are so many wonderful areas to explore near Canmore (Banff, Lake Louise), we recommend renting a car to get the most out of your Canadian Rockies vacation.

If you do not plan on renting a car, your best option for getting to Canmore is one of the local shuttle providers. Banff Airporter drops guests off at the Radisson Hotel (located .8 km from the property). An alternative is Rocky Mountain Sky Shuttle. The Greyhound bus depot located in downtown Canmore (1.5 km from the property).

By Car
Canmore is located just outside the entrance to Banff National Park on the Trans Canada Highway (Highway #1) approximately 106 kilometers (66 miles) west of Calgary. The drive from Calgary is on a divided double-lane highway and takes you from the prairies, through the foothills and into the Canadian Rocky Mountains. There are 3 exits off the Trans Canada Highway into Canmore.

Please note: If you plan on driving into Banff National Park and staying for a duration (as opposed to just driving through), you will require a National Park Permit. Fees can be paid at the entrance to the park. We provide one National Park Permit for use during your stay.

GETTING AROUND

At this time, there is not public transportation system in Canmore. A number of local companies have tried offering service to Banff and the local ski hills. At this time, Superior Chauffeurs is offering these services. One of their ski bus pick ups is conveniently located next door to our property.

Local taxi service is available. The rate to most places in Canmore is $7 (excluding outlying areas of Silvertip and Three Sisters). The rate to Banff is $35.

Our Main Street is also known as 8th Street and makes up what most refer to as Downtown Canmore. This is where most of the restaurants and shops are located. Bow Valley Trail is where all but a few of the hotels are located, and also has various shops, gas stations, and restaurants. Railway Avenue has two major grocery stores (Safeway and Sobey’s), as well as pharmacies, video stores and liquor merchants.
